As far back as she can remember, Mrs. Dizinno always wanted to be a teacher. After graduating from State University College at Oneonta, she was lucky to get a job teaching second grade in St. Raphael, East Meadow. She found her passion! She stayed there, teaching Second , Kindergarten and First grade for thirteen and one half years. While teaching, she attended Long Island University at C. W. Post and received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Educational Psychology.
Her husband's job took the family to The Netherlands when her son was in First Grade. He attended the American School of The Hague, where she worked part time teaching remedial reading and English to six to nine year old children. What a wonderful experience that was!
When her own two children were young, she started subbing in several Catholic schools in the area. She soon realized that she enjoyed teaching older students, as well. She was thrilled when Mrs. Sadicario offered her the Fourth Grade position here at St. Patrick's. That was in 2001, and she has been here ever since.
To Mrs. Dizinno, teaching is a vocation and her classroom is a second home. Every day is a new adventure! She thanks God for the opportunity to pursue this dream.
